Photoluminescence properties of CaTiO3:Eu3+ nanophosphor obtained by the polymeric precursor method

2014
Abstract Europium-doped calcium titanate nanophosphors were synthesized by the polymeric precursor method (PPM) at different temperatures. X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) spectroscopy reveals that the introduction of Eu 3+ ions into the CaTiO 3 network induces to significant changes in the local order–disorder relationship around both [TiO 6 ] and [CaO 12 ] complex clusters. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) and FT-Raman reveals that the presence of the Eu 3+ ions favors the structural organization at long and short ranges, which produces a faster crystallization of the CT orthorhombic phase. The increase of the annealed temperature and the Eu 3+ concentration for CT:Eu 3+ powders induces to a decrease in the CT:Eu 3+ nanoparticle sizes.
