Isolation and identification of pathogenic bacteria from frog Rana tigerina with cankering toe disease and drug sensitivity.

2009
A bacterium, named as WD-01,isolated from frog Rana tigerina with cankering feet disease, was proved to be the causative pathogen by morphological, physiological and biochemical tests during experimental infection tests. The sensitivity of the bacterium to some drugs including Neomycin,Rifamycin,Cephalothin,Norfloxacin,Gentamycin,Oxytetracycline,Streptomycin,Aureomycin,Kanamycin and Doxycycline was tested through a slip method. The results showed that the pathogen WD-01 was identified as Aeromonas hydrophil, and was sensitive to these drugs.
