The coating material comprises a component A and a component B, wherein the component B is 1-6% of the component A in percent by weight; the component A comprises the following substances in parts by weight: 100 parts of film forming agent, 5-20 parts of reinforcing agent, 15-30 parts of composite photocatalysis particles, 5-20 parts of modifying agent, 0.1-0.5 part of catalyst, 5-15 parts of plasticizing agent, 0.05-0.5 part of defoaming agent, 0.5-2 parts of hydroxyl stabilizer and 100-200 parts of alkaline water; and the component B comprises the following substances in parts by weight: 1-6 parts of cross-linking agent, 2-6 parts of tackifier and 0.05-0.5 part of defoaming agent. According to the coating material and the preparation method of the coating material, the composite photocatalysis particles take part in a coating material reinforcing role, are strong in adhesiveness and difficultly fall off; and meanwhile, the coating material has hydrophobicity and hydrophobic mobility, and dust is difficultly gathered on the surface of the coating material, so that the road photocatalysis exhaust degradation capacity of the particles is guaranteed, the time for photocatalytic degradation is increased, and the photocatalysis efficiency is increased.
