A B S T R A C T Indian gooseberry is a tree that grows in India and the Middle East. Indian gooseberry has been used i n Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years. Today people still use the fruit of the tree to make medicine. Indian gooseber ry is used for cholesterol, “hardening of the arteries” ( atherosclerosis upset stomach, eye problems, joint pain, diarrhea reduce pain and swelling caused by the body’s react ion to injury or illness (inflammation). by reducing total cholesterol levels, including the fatty acids called called high-density lipoprotein (HDL).
