"A KNOT IN THE STOMACH": GASTRIC VOLVULUS

2014
Gastric Volvulus is characterized by abnormal rotation of the stomach over itself. Although it’s a rare cause of obstruction, it may present in acute or chronic way, with periods of intermittent obstruction. It is important to recognize a gastric volvulus, avoiding medical and surgical complications of this entity, so the clinical and imaging diagnosis should be precise and correct. We make a short review over the literature to define this condition and with gastrointestinal fluoroscopic exams, we illustrated the classification of the gastric volvulus organoaxial, mesenteroaxial and a mix between organoaxial and mesenteroaxial.
