Some interesting questions about the clinical significance and future research on serum sialic acid

This paper discussed the current applications of serum sialic acid (SA) in physiological mechanism,clinical researches.Based on current situation of domestic and foreign clinical studies,characteristics of serum sialic acid levels in malignant tumor,cardiovascular and other major diseases have been discussed.Through the strengthening of basic and clinical combined research,it will prompt the serum SA more efficiently used in early diagnosis and health care.(Chin J Lab Med,2013,36:880-882) Key words: N-acetylneuraminic acid; Biological markers; Neoplasms; Cardiovascular diseases
