Packet transmitting method and router

The embodiment of the invention discloses a message distributing method and a router, wherein the message distributing method comprises receiving multicast messages by an inlet interface board, obtaining multicast group parameters according to the multicast messages, confirming an outlet interface plate which is corresponding to the multicast group according to the multicast group parameters by the inlet interface plate, replicating multicast messages which are received, sending out the multicast messages after replicating, receiving multicast messages transmitted by the inlet interface plate by a load-sharing interface plate which is corresponding to the inlet interface plate, and replicating and transmitting the multicast messages to the outlet interface plate. The embodiment of the invention solves the problems of deficient replication ability of an inlet direction multicast replication module, releases the flow load of a channel between the inlet direction multicast replication module and an inter-board switching module, and guarantees unicast transmitting property.
