Miocarditis por descarga eléctrica. Presentación de una paciente

The electric shock is one of the most frecuent cause of death by natural phenomena. Taking into account the lesions provoked by the kind of impact and electric power, it has been stated that the cardiac lesions constitute one of the main causes of mortality. It is presented a case concerning a 38-year-old woman, who suffered a loss of consciousness and a left ventricle dysfunction by electric shock as a consequence of indirect impact. After she had been admitted, she presented polypnea, third sound and moreover sinus tachycardia in the electrocardiogram (E.C.g9. The rest of electrocardiographic anomalies appeared since the second day after her admission in the hospital. This patient had also some disorders proved by ecocardiographic studies, which are most characteristic in case of direct impact. The changes in both, electrocardiographic and ecocardiographic studies were still existing after the discharge, although it has noticed a clinical and ecocardiographic improvements after the medical treatment. In this research was made also, a brief review of those disorders caused by electric discharges.
