Bending Loss Study of Polymeric S-shape Rib Waveguide

The relationship between the curvature radius and the bending loss for polymeric S-shape rib waveguide were studied with wide-angle finite-difference beam propagation method(FD-BPM) and effective index method(EIM).The conclusion is that when the curvature radius is larger than 5 000 μm,the bending loss will not decrease distinctly even if the curvature radius increase,thus the light can propagate stably in the S-shape rib waveguide.
