Influence of Synchronous Generator Excitation Parameters on Power System Transient Voltage Stability

The comprehensive influence of synchronous generator excitation parameters on power system transient voltage stability was studied and analyzed. Firstly, based on the principle of trajectory sensitivity analysis, a quantitative method was proposed to evaluate the influence of single excitation parameter of synchronous generator on transient voltage stability of power system. The influence degree of single excitation parameter of synchronous generator on transient voltage stability of power system was determined by this method. Furthermore, under the constraint of maintaining the transient voltage stability of power system, the optimal values of excitation parameters and the change trend of transient voltage stability caused by the different values of excitation parameters were determined. Finally, based on the influence degree of excitation parameters on the transient voltage stability and their optimal values under the constraint of transient voltage stability, a quantitative index which can comprehensively evaluate the transient voltage control performance of synchronous generator excitation system was proposed. Extensive simulation results of a large power grid show that the proposed method and index can effectively evaluate the influence of generator excitation parameters on the transient voltage stability of power system.
