Temperature dependence of pressure broadening and shift of Rb D2 line

Abstract In this work the collisional broadening and shift rates of the Rb D 2 (5 2 S 1/2 –5 2 P 3/2 ) transition induced by 4 He gas had been measured. A novel full-quantum calculations based on the Baranger theory were also presented to understand the observation. The calculation results were compared with other experimental measurements and predictions from the semi-classical Anderson–Talman theory and other full-quantum theoretical calculations. Compared with prior calculations based on the scattering matrix, our calculations are more self-consistent and show better agreement with experimental results.
