Species-Specific Antigens from Trachoma and Inclusionconjunctivitis (Chlamydial) Agents

1967
Summary Species-specific antigens capable of differentiating TRIC strains from the 6BC strain of psittacosis were demonstrated by the indirect-hemagglutination test. They were present mainly in the cell somatic material. The species-specific antigen was sensitive to heat (56°C for 1 hr) and reacted with antibodies different from those measured by the complement-fixation test.
