In a monographic study the basic postulates assessing the creditworthiness of the borrower and the investment attractiveness of the enterprise are revealed, value and role of credit ratings in the system of evaluation in activity of business entities are studied, industry factors of influence on the process of assessing the creditworthiness of the borrower are defined, the basic principles of the Basel Capital Accord are discussed.
