Simple method for promoting Abrus mollis Hance seed germination

2014
The invention discloses a method for promoting simple Abrus mollis Hance seed germination. The method is as below: (1) soaking seeds in water of 60- 80 DEG C for 3-8 min, naturally cooling the seeds and soaking the seeds with tap water for overnight; (2) selecting un-swollen seeds, soaking the seeds with water at 60-80 DEG C again for 3- 8 min, naturally cooling the seeds and soaking the seeds with tap water for overnight; (3) before the germination of seeds, and immersing the seeds treated with hot water with 300 -700 times of liquid high chlorine for disinfection, for 103 h; and (4) evenly spreading the disinfected seeds in a seedling bed, maintaining full moisture and carrying out germination. The simple method for promoting Abrus mollis Hance seed germination has the advantages of extremely simple operation method and low treatment cost; and treated seeds have no side effects, and no danger occurs on the operator. Through treatment by the method of the invention, the germination rate of Abrus mollis Hance seed is greater than 70.8%.
