Morphogenesis of Spring Viraemia of Capr Virus in Cell Culture

Morphogenesis of Spring viraemia of carp virus /SVCV/ in Epithelioma papulosum cyprini /EPC/ cells was investigated with regard to ultrastructural changes of the cytoplasm organelles in dynamics /24 th , 36 th , 48 th , 72 nd h /. The ultrastructure of cytoplasm organelles of cultured cells after viral infection differed depending on the stage of viral replication. Taken together, the results indicate that SVCV-infected epithelioma papulosum cyprini /EPC/ cells undergo apoptosis. Here, we report for the fi rst time that apoptotic changes in SVCV infected EPC cells started early - before 24 th h after viral infection. At the same time, almost all cytoplasm organelles take part in viral replication undergoing ultrastructural changes that progress to cell death.
