The control system for the disruption stabilisation experiment in JET

A new control system for the control of rotating magnetic islands in the JET plasma is described. The flexibility required to the controller because of uncertainty and variability of the plasma model have imposed a digital implementation. To obtain the fast response required by the modes dynamic the controller is composed by a set of six DSPs working in parallel. Furthermore the controller is interfaced to other diagnostics systems in order to be able to adapt its action to different plasma conditions in real time.
