Compared to malignant tumors, benign tumors of the liver are encountered rarely in daily practice, although their true incidence is probably not low [1]. This is because they are either asymptomatic and not discovered or they are not biopsied and left unresected. However, ultrasonographic imaging often may show benign tumors in the liver. Some of these tumors are true neoplasms, while others are tumor-like masses (Table 16.1) [2].
