Reaction of Ph2P(CH2)nPPh2 (n = 1, 3, 5) with elemental tellurium and comparison with members of even-numbered series

Abstract The oxidation of Ph 2 P(CH 2 ) n PPh 2 ( n  = 1, 3, 5) by tellurium powder was studied. The prepared compounds Ph 2 P(Te)(CH 2 ) n P(Te)Ph 2 (1, n  = 3; 2, n  = 5) were characterized by 31 P and 125 Te NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, FTIR spectroscopy and for 2 by single-crystal X-ray analysis.
