The Clinical Character of the Type 2 diabetes with Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver (NAFLD) and the Relationship with Serum Uric Acid (SUA)

2011
Objective To understand the clinical character of the type 2 diabetes (T2DM) with nonalcoholic fatty liver (NAFLD) and its relationship with serum uric acid (SUA).Methods A total of 80 T2DM inpatients between 2008 and 2009 were selected and divided into T2DM without NAFLD group (Group A) and T2DM with NAFLD group (Group B).Their general data, including glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1C),lipid profile, liver function, renal function, leptin, free fatty acid (FFA),urine routine,24-hours urine ration were measured and analyzed. Results Compared with the patients in Group A:waist-to-hipratio(WHR),SUA,alanine aminotransferase (ALT),γ-glutamyltranspeptidase (GGT),aspartate aminotransferase (AST),triglyceride (TG) and very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) were significantly higher in Group B (P0.05).Conclusion The level of serum uric acid in T2DM patients with NAFLD is significantly increased. The effect of FFA and leptin in the relationship between SUA and NAFLD among T2DM still need further study.
