Social Networks as a Means of Professional Communication

The purpose of the study is to analyze the possibilities of using social networks, in particular Facebook, for professional communication between specialists in different sectors; to identify tools allowing corporate communication through social networking sites; based on qualitative methods to assess the use of Facebook for communication in terms of the occupation of users, dissemination of relevant information, conducting sociological surveys, discussions of scientists specializing in anthropology, cultural studies and psychology, living and working in the UK, Russia, and the United States of America. In the course of the study, it has been found that business communication can take place both on personal Facebook pages and in groups of participants united by shared professional interests. Based on the example of experts in anthropology, cultural studies and psychology, it has been found that more than 67% of registered Facebook users use their pages for professional communication. The results of the study showed that despite the fact that Facebook is the most common in the United States and less popular in Russia, it is more widely used by Russian specialists for business communication compared to American and British experts.
