Chocolate Poisoning in a Dog and its Successful treatment

Two and half year old Pug was presented with history of salivation and emesis after consumption of excess amount of chocolate twelve hours ago. Further clinical examination revealed diarrhea, restlessness, hyperactivity and tachycardia. The animal was treated with antibiotics, H2 blockers, antiemetic, sedatives, fluid therapy and activated charcoal. The successful management of the case with prompt therapeutic approach is discussed.
