Gel growth of single crystals of complexes of oxamic acid with divalent metals (Pb2+, Ca2+, Cd2+

1989
Abstract Large single crystals of complexes of oxamic acid with Pb 2+ , Cd 2+ and Ca 2+ have been prepared in silica gels and characterized by chemical analysis, thermal analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction. In addition, crystals of Cd(C 2 O 4 )·3H 2 O have been obtained by “in situ” hydrolysis of oxamic to oxalic acid. The influence of different parameters on the growth process have been examined.
