Development of Roller Embossing Machine for Fabrication of Polymer Microstructures

The basic principles and the process of roller embossing for fabrication of polymer microstructures determined. According to the process requirements,the basic functions of roller embossing machine including temperature and press force control were determined.Roller embossing machine was developed,the outer aluminum heating circle was used to radiate to heat the roller,and temperature of the two rollers was controlled separately.The servo motor was used to drive the roller to rotate synchronously,the gear screw institutions were used to adjust the clearance between the two rollers and the pressure.This method ensured the high accuracy and real-time control of the temperature and pressing forces.Combining the developed roller embossing machine and the single screw extruder,the polymer microlens arrays had been successful papered and achieved good effect.
