Guía de práctica clínica para la detección temprana, el diagnóstico, el tratamiento y el seguimiento de los defectos refractivos en menores de 18 años
2017
Objective:
to generate recommendations for the prevention, early detection, diagnosis,
treatment, and follow-up of refraction defects in children under 18, in order to support
health care professionals taking care of them in the different attention services.
Methods:
The Guide Development Group (GDG) was integrated by an interdisciplinary group
of health professionals and patients. Within the group, the scope, objectives, questions and
outcomes of the guide were defined. Literature for systematic reviews, Meta-analysis,
clinical trials, cohort studies, and case-control studies in the MEDLINE, EMBASE and
CENTRAL databases, published before 2014, was reviewed. The methodological quality of
the selected articles was evaluated. Subsequently, the tables of evidence were elaborated
using GRADEpro® 3.6 software and recommendations were generated using the GRADE
methodology.
Results:
The Guide Development Group generated recommendations for the prevention,
early detection, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of of refractive defects in children under
18. In order to provide a context, several general questions are presented, but they do not
generate recommendations.
