A broad-suitable method for total nucleic acid extraction from plants and animals

According to simple three steps for nucleic acid extraction,in cluding cells rupturing,impurities removing and nucleic acid precipitation a new nucleic acid extraction method called PS method was worked out.Better results were obtained on the basis of extractions from 20 species of plants including Ginkgopsida,Cycadinae,Coniferae,dicots and monocotyledon of angiosperms,and 5 species of animals of 5 classes.High purity of DNA and RNA were obtained after digestion with DNase and RNase respectively.The extracted DNA and RNA were excellent for RT-PCR and SSR amplifications.The experimental results showed that the PS method was a broad-suitable method for nucleic acid extraction from plants and animals.
