The linoleic acid status of the newborn lamb and thermoregulation.

1981
The possible relationship between the essential fatly acid status of the newborn lamb and its ability to withstand a high environmental temperature has been studied. Obvious signs of thermal stress were shown by lambs receiving a low fal and ordinary milk diet. Where the milk diet was supplemented with linoleic acid there was a considerable increase in cutaneous moisture loss. Signs of thermal stress were absent.
