Inversion of complex V(z) at high frequencies for acoustic microscopy

We describe a phase‐measuring acoustic microscope operating at high frequency. Both the phase and amplitude of the acoustic reflectance are found by inversion of the complex V(z) function at 300 MHz. Attenuation in the coupling fluid is considered and the focal point determination is discussed.
