Effect of carbon black type on the adhesion between butyl rubber and polyester fabric

1997
Three types of carbon black were used to study the effect of its loading on the adhesion between butyl rubber and polyester fabric. The adhesion improved both on aging and on exposure to ionizing gamma radiation. The dielectric constant, electrical resistivity, and permeability of the various rubber-fabric samples were measured. The dielectric properties were found to depend on the type of carbon black used. The permeability of the rubber-fabric assembly depends on the adhesion strength between the rubber and the fabric.
