Development of patient satisfaction indicators for quality nursing care

Objective To develop patient satisfaction indicators for quality nursing care. Methods Delphi technique was used to formulate patient satisfaction indicators for quality nursing care through a two-round expert consultation among 15 experts. Results The experts' authority coefficient was 0.929, coefficient of determination was 0.897, and familiar coefficient was 0.960. The patient satisfaction indicators consisted of 4 first-level indicators, 13 second-level indicators and 21 third-level indicators. The coordination coefficients of the indicators of the above three levels were 0.493, 0.372, 0.350 respectively. Conclusions The patient satisfaction indicators for quality nursing care were reliable and scientific which can provide measurable basis for objective evaluation and continuous improvement of the quality nursing care.
