La gestión de la emergencia producida por el argayo de Sebrango (Cantabria) en junio de 2013

This paper discusses about the activities carried out during the emergency of Camaleno (Cantabria), in June 2013; in which the Sebrango and Los Llanos villages were affected by an active landslide. The tasks carried out have involved the supporting of all decision-making, understanding of the problem, displacement analysis, and finally urgent stabilization actions. In this work also is discussed the usefulness of the geomorphic approaches in the management of this type of emergencies and in the space-time process characterization. The experiences obtained as well as the difficulties found in real-time data collection are showed. This knowledge has been reverted in the implementation of measures that increase the stabilization process. Finally the dynamic evolution of the process and the mitigation tasks performed, contributed to stabilization the area, and the completion of scientific works of this emergency phase.
