Specificity, Kinetics, and Distribution of Monoclonal Antibodies to Carcinoembryonic Antigen in Human Colorectal Carcinoma by Ex Vivo Human Tumor Perfusion

The use of monoclonal antibodies (MAB) for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes depends on their accumulation and retention in solid tumor tissue [1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 13, 14]. The accuracy of presently available methods is subject to inherent limitations with respect to scintigraphic localization. Furthermore, the therapeutic application appears only rarely succussful [3,11,12]. This situation demands a systemic investigation of factors determining the biodistribution of MAB in both tumor and normal tissue.
