Aqueous solution inclusion complex of benzothiophene compound with water-soluble cyclodextrin, and pharmaceutical formulation and method thereof

PURPOSE: To provide an aqueous inclusion complex that contains a certain known benzo[b]thiophene compound and water-soluble cyclodextrin and is useful for treatment of mammalian osteoporosis, hypercholesterolemia and the like. CONSTITUTION: The objective aqueous inclusion complex solution includes (A) a compound of the formula R and R are each H, methyl, -CO-alkyl of 1-6C or a group of the formula: -CO-Ar [Ar is a (substituted) phenyl], R is pyrrolidino, hexamethylenimino or piperidino} their salt, for example, the hydrochloride of the compound of the formula where R and R are each H and R is piperidino, and (B) a water-soluble cyclodextrin, for example, hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin.
