Theoretical expressions for overall contributions to paraconductivity in momentum cutoff and total-energy cutoff regimes: A comparative study

Abstract Theoretical expressions for in-plane paraconductivity σ ab ′ in a layered superconductor are presented in momentum cutoff (MC) or total-energy cutoff (EC) regimes. The expressions include overall contributions to fluctuation theories composed of the Aslamazov–Larkin (AL), Maki–Thompson (MT) and density of state (DOS) terms. Our formulae are shown to provide similar behavior in both MC and EC regimes according as the spectral cutoffs become effective in contrast to the case of the AL scheme, which is ascribed to the influence of regular MT and DOS terms. Formulae for the overall contributions to the paraconductivity σ ′ with the MC and EC effects in an n dimensional ( n  = 1, 2 or 3) system are also derived.
