RESULTS OF AIH IN 1475 PATIENTS

It has been thirty years(1948) since we began performing artificial insemination with husband’s semen (AIH) for the treatment of infertility at our clinic and this method has unquestionably become one of the most valuable therapeutic procedures in the treatment of infertility.1,2 Although many authors have reported AIH to be effective,3,4 others have expressed doubt regarding its use in cases of oligospermia.5,6 In our experience, the conception rate with AIH has not improved as expected. Accordingly, we have retrospectively analyzed the role of AIH in regard to indications, management of unsuccessful cases and improvement of semen quality.
