율무 추출물의 산화 스트레스에 대한 간 세포 보호효과

Oxidative stress is one of the major causes of hepatocyte injury. The protective effects of Coix lachryma-jobi var. mayuen stapf.(Coix) on tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BHP) induced oxidative stress in HepG2 cell damage were investigated in vitro. Cell viability of six extracts of Coix which were extracted with ethanol and water from three different parts was tested by MIT assay. The ethanol extract from whole plant, root and grain exhibited relatively higher protective effect on human HepG2 cells. These results suggest that Coix extracts may be useful as a phytotherapeutic agent for the treatment of liver damage.
