A Percepção dos moradores da Vila Rural Nossa Terra Nossa Gente diante da produção de cana de açúcar em seu entorno, Mirassol D’Oeste, Mato Grosso

The objective of this study was to present the environmental perception of the Nossa TerraNossa Gente rural village, located nowdays where exists yhe sugar cane field of the CooperativeAgricultural Center of Rio Branco Sugarcane Producers (COOPERB), putting at risk theagroecological production of the community. The survey was performed through a questionnaireapplied among the 25 participants. Among the families, 40% of them are agroecologicalproducers, 12 families participate in the delivery of food to the National Supply Company (CONAB),60% said that the spraying of pesticides would harm and/or kill the cultivated plants. Theparticipants’ testimony reveals that the quality of life of the families located in the village as wellas the quality of the environment in which they are, together with what they cultivate, may becompromised by the use of pesticides used in the cultivation of sugar cane in their proximity.
