Fragmentation of nuclei of various nucleon composition in the interaction with 1 GeV protons

Abstract The energy spectra of individual isotopes of the elements from helium to carbon produced by the interaction of 1.0 GeV protons with Ti, 58 Ni, 64 Ni, 112 Sn, and 124 Sn have been measured at the laboratory angle θ = 60°. The yields of the fragments, normalized to σ geom , were found to be independent on the mass number of the target nuclei with similar values of the number of neutrons to the number of protons ratio.
