Catalyst deactivation phenomena in styrene production
2001
Abstract Catalyst deactivation in the styrene process occurs by several mechanisms such as coke deposition, migration, loss and redistribution of the potassium promoter, changes in the oxidation state of iron, and physical degradation. These changes are interrelated and occur simultaneously. Recent investigations in these areas and novel adaptations of the catalyst and process are discussed briefly in this review.
