Direct Measurement of Polarization Dependency of Mode Conversion in a Long Period Grating

A thermal induced long period grating mode converter with high bandwidth, and low loss is presented. Polarization dependency of the mode conversion is measured using spatial and spectral (S 2 ) imaging and found to be low.
