Widths of low-lying levels of 6Li

Abstract The bremsstrahlung of electrons from a linear accelerator has been used to excite two levels of 6 Li. From self-absorption measurements, we obtain the following width: Λ γ (3.56MeV) = 4.6±0.4 eV and from a scattering experiment Λ γ (2.18) μ eV. As a check on the apparatus and method, the well-known widths of two levels in 11 B and 28 Si have been measured.
