The effects of He-Ne laser irradiate acupoints on recovery of urinary bladder function after radical hysterectomy

2010
Objective:To study the effects of acupoints were irradiated by He-Ne laser on recovery of urinary bladder function after radical hysterectomy.Methods:192 patients, who underwent radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy because of cervical cancer in clinical stage IB~IIA,were randomly divided into control group, drug group and laser group,64 cases in each group. The urinary tube was placed and kept with routine method and the urinary bladder was rinsed in the control group;Orally pyridostigmine bromide was given from the eighth day to the thirteenth day and tamsulosin was given from the eleventh day to the thirteenth day after operation in the drug group and acupoints were irradiated by He-Ne laser from the eighth day to the thirteenth day after operation in the laser group on the basis of treatment in the control group. The urethral catheter was removed on the fourteenth day after operation and the residual urine volume was measured on the fifteenth day after operation to overall patients. Results:The residual urine volume were(154.67±73.83)ml,(77.23±38.54) ml and(62.33±39.27)ml respectively, the incidence rate of urinary retention were 37.5%,17.19% and 12.5% respectively, the average time of retention catheter were (21.73±4.52) day,(17.21±3.47) day and(16.98±2.24)day respectively in the control group, the drug group and the laser group. The residual urine volume, the incidence rate of urinary retention and the average time of retention catheter were significantly less in the drug group and the laser group compared with the control group(PO.O1),and the residual urine volume was significantly less in the laser group compared with the drug group(P0.05).Conclusion:The acupoints are irradiated by He-Ne laser can effectively promote recovery of urinary bladder function, reduce incidence rate of urinary retention and decurtate average time of retention catheter after radical hysterectomy.
