Aldehyd-Immissionen in verkehrsbelasteten Bereichen der Münchener Innenstadt

1996
The concentrations of volatile aldehydes and of carbonmonoxide (CO) in ambient air were determined at seven busy sites in the city of Munich polluted with traffic exhaust during the autumn and winter period (October 1992-January 1993). Least-square fit calculations showed a quantitative relationship between formaldehyde (Fa) and acetaldehyde (Ac) proving that the emissions are caused predominantly by motor-driven vehicles. Thus the emissions of Fa and Ac might be derived with adequate precision from measurements of CO at locations influenced by road traffic. The detected emissions of aldehydes are below thresholds defined for human health.
