[Contraceptive behavior in 1877 clinic patients. Which methods to use? What were the motives for their discontinuation?]

1984
Between January 1981-March 1982 1187 women were referred to 4 public family planning clinics and were interviewed concerning their contraceptive habits while sexually active. The data about contraceptive methods used during the 1st sexual encounter and the time of the interview are analyzed. Also studied were the king and frequency of these contraceptive changes from 1 method to another and a particular method at the time of utilization. Results indicated that womens information concerning effective contraceptive methods does not favor use for an adequate period of time. Motivation toward refusal or interruption of use conceals some deeply rooted psychological resistance. (authors modified) (summary in ENG)
