The invention discloses a positioning detection system of a concealed type fire hydrant. The system comprises a detector and an emitter, wherein the emitter comprises a control mainboard I and an antenna which is used for external communication, the control mainboard I comprises a wireless communication module, the detector comprises a control mainboard II and a breathing lamp, a display screen and a loudspeaker which are connected with the control mainboard II respectively, and the control mainboard II also comprises a wireless communication module; the outer surface of the emitter is coated with a high temperature resistant layer and a waterproof layer sequentially, the outside of the emitter is further sleeved with an explosion-proof cover and located inside the concealed type fire hydrant, and the antenna penetrates through the concealed type fire hydrant; the outer surface of the detector is also coated with a high temperature resistant layer and a waterproof layer sequentially. The invention further discloses a positioning detection method of the system and the application of the system in the concealed type fire hydrant. The system is low in power consumption and cost, small in size, light in weight and convenient to mount and carry, and high temperature resistance, water proofing and explosion proofing treatment is performed to the equipment sequentially, so that the applicability and the reliability of the equipment are enhanced greatly.
