Cytodiagnosis of Hepatic Amyloidosis: A Rare Case Report.

The hepatic amyloidosis remains clinically inapparent for a longer time. Its diagnosis is made on tru cut needle biopsies. The special stain and microscopies are subsequently carried out to confirm the amyloid nature of the material. The fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) reports for diagnosis of amyloidosis are rare in literature.  The present paper describes the diagnosis of hepatic amyloidosis by FNAC in a 60 years old man with palpable liver.  The present case report highlights the morphological character of hepatic amyloidosis on FNAC material and its usefulness for diagnosis of amyloidosis
