The invention relates to a plastic hot stamping foil and a production method thereof to mainly solve a series of problems of poor adhesion, insufficient brightness, unclear pattern and no alcohol resistance of present hot stamping foils frequently occurring in the process of hot stamping of surfaces of various plastics. A technical scheme adopted in the invention is characterized in that the method comprises the following steps: respectively mixing organosilicon modified epoxy resin, thermoplastic acrylic resin, dammar resin and a mixed solvent, and wetting and dispersing to prepare a release material; mixing acrylic resin, cellulose acetate, polybutadiene resin, an initiator, a mixed solvent and a pigment, and wetting and dispersing to prepare a coloring material; mixing alkyd resin, phenolic resin, polyacetal resin, polyurethane resin, a silica filler, a mixed solvent and a cross-linking agent, and wetting and dispersing to prepare a bonding material; and sequentially coating a 12-15[mu]m BOPET film with the release material and the coloring material through a coating machine, carrying out vacuum alumina plating, and coating the obtained aluminum layer with the bonding material to produce the plastic hot stamping foil. The plastic hot stamping foil produced in the invention has the characteristics of good adhesion, high brightness, good alcohol resistance, good hot stamping effect, easy transportation and storage, simple production process and stable use performances.
