This study was conducted in order to determine the relationship between gender, age and physical activity, outside the school context, according to parenting styles and study attitudes and behaviors. The sample consisted of 272 students (101 girls and 171 boys) of a school from northern Portugal, aged between 13 and 21 years old (M = 15.66, SD = 1.71). For the purposes of the present studt the Questionario de Estilos Educativos Parentais (QEEP) was used. Results showed that adolescents perceived their parents as being more responsive and less demanding. Furthermore, boys and girls perceived parenting styles in the same way, and younger teens (between 13 and 14 years old) perceived their parents as being more responsive and less demanding.
