Natural frequencies of vibration of fine particles and interaction of the particles with electromagnetic radiation
1995
The resonant mechanism of high-frequency radiation absorption by fine particles was considered. The natural frequencies of the fine particles arranged on the macroporous carrier were calculated. It was found that the vibration spectra calculated from the temperature dependence of recoilless gamma -ray absorption (Mossbauer effect) coincide with those calculated in the present work. On the basis of this research, one could conclude that the fine-particle vibrations give the main contribution to the recoilless absorption of gamma -rays.
