Evaluación de la vulnerabilidad sísmica para la Ciudad de San Cristóbal

espanolLa investigacion tiene el objetivo de definir la vulnerabilidad sismica en la ciudad de San Cristobal, Cuba. El area de estudio esta proxima al epicentro estimado para el terremoto del ano 1880, considerado el mas fuerte en Cuba Occidental. En el estudio, se emplearon algunos indicadores contenidos en la guia metodologica: "Determinacion del peligro, vulnerabilidad y riesgo sismico en escenarios fisicos" del Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Sismologicas de Cuba. La cartografia resultante se edito sobre plataforma de sistema de informacion geografica, permite la manipulacion de informacion numerica y alfanumerica referente a aspectos tan diversos como el patrimonio construido, la poblacion, las condiciones economicas locales y todas de influencia significativa en la gestion del riesgo sismico. Dentro de los resultados mas importantes, de acuerdo a su aplicacion inmediata, se encuentran los mapas de vulnerabilidad estructural, social, economica y el mapa de vulnerabilidad sismica total. EnglishThe research has the objective to define the seismic vulnerability in San Cristobal city, Cuba. The area of study is near the epicenter of an earthquake occurring in 1880; which has been considered as the most powerful earthquake ever in the West of Cuba. In the research, there were used some indicators that are within the methodological guide: "Determination of the hazard, vulnerability and seismic risks in physical sceneries" of the National Centre of Seismic Researches of Cuba. The resulting cartography was edited on a platform of a geographic system of information that allows the manipulation of the numerical and alphanumerical information regarding to different aspects like the heritage built, the population, the local economic conditions and all of the have a great significance in the management of the seismic risks. Some of the most outstanding results, because of their immediate application, are the maps of the structural, social and economic vulnerability and the map of the total seismic vulnerability.
