The present work is a clinical case report of “Root dwarfism of idiopathic origin in pediatric patients” observed in the Dental Care Center of the University of the Americas of Quito-Ecuador in the period between April 2018 and April 2019. The case refers to a 14-year-old male patient who goes to the clinic for a routine checkup. The pathology in the upper incisors is incidentally found by means of a panoramic radiograph, determined after an exhaustive assessment such as idiopathic root dwarfism, being an uncommon pathology with a prevalence between 0.1-1.6%, it is not well defined, its causative agent is Unknown, it is characterized by being asymptomatic and is usually accompanied by dental mobility in the intra-oral examination. The evaluation of the possible treatments that the patient requires by a multidisciplinary team of specialists is carried out. Executing reasonable adjustments to estimate the effectiveness of splints, 4x2 technique and preservation of the treatments that were performed. The objective of this case report is to know and describe the most important characteristics about idiopathic root dwarfism to establish the diagnosis, favor the patient by returning their aesthetics, function and quality of life, in order to obtain timely treatment in relation to available bibliography.
